Description
Making a difference in a child's life is not limited to teaching in a classroom. At The Community Group (TCG) we know that every role in our agency plays a direct role in positively impacting the lives of our children and families.
We are searching for a Grant Writer, with a strong background in early education, to prepare and submit grant proposals to secure funding across our programs. A successful candidate takes an asset-based approach to grant writing, is detailed oriented, independent, persistent, creative, and organized.
About The Community Group :
The Community Group (TCG) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to create, manage, and nurture high quality programs focused on education and related services that support families. TCG operates early childhood and school age child care programs, a child care resource and referral program, training and workforce development programs and holds a management contract with Community Day Charter Public School.
About The Position:
This is a full time, exempt, hybrid position. The Grant Writer reports to the Director of Development and Grant Performance.
The salary range for this position is $70,000-$90,000 commensurate with experience. Competitive benefits package included.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Grant Writing: Develops comprehensive and concise grant proposals, interim and final reports that meet funder requirements and align with our organizational mission and values.
Communication : Builds and maintains positive relationships through accurate and effective communication and promptly responds to internal and external outreach.
Project Management: Plans effectively to efficiently and sustainably manage multiple complex projects simultaneously to meet all required deadlines.
Organization: Maintains a well-defined system of organizing files, calendars and relevant internal and external communications.
Professional Learning: Maintains up-to-date knowledge of the early education and care field and the community.
Other Responsibilities may include:
Collaborating with program directors to support program development and evaluation.
Preparing external communications in collaboration with Director of Communications and Public Relations.
Maintaining grant and donation files and donor database.
Conducting grant research to identify new funders and funding opportunities to support programs.
All other projects and duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications: Alignment with The Community Group's mission and values.
Bachelor's degree in early childhood education or related field.
Successful public grant writing experience; experience working with the Department of Early Education & Care (EEC) and/or Department of Elementary & Secondary Education (DESE) grants strongly preferred.
3-5 years professional work experience, with minimum 2 years work experience in early childhood or elementary education (ages 0-14) preferred.
Highly organized, able to meet deadlines and balance multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to function independently and work effectively with other staff.
Exceptional writing skills.
Willingness to learn and develop new skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Desired Qualifications and Skills: Successful private grant writing experience.
Outstanding interpersonal communication skills.
Advanced with all Microsoft Office and Google programs including SharePoint, Word, Excel, Google Docs and Google Sheets, and comfort learning new technology.
