Gorilla 76 is hiring: Thinker & Content Intern in Saint Louis

Gorilla 76, Saint Louis, MO, US

Content Summary: Thinker & Content Intern at Saint Louis, for Gorilla 76

Job Description

Job Description
Salary: $15 hourly

Gorilla 76 is looking for a part-time Content Intern to write content that drives results for industrial marketing programs. Writers at Gorilla 76 are responsible for executing a wide variety of written work in service of our clients’ marketing plans.

As part of the Content Department, you’ll be responsible for delivering written content for your assigned clients while also supporting the initiatives of the department and the agency as a whole. You will report to Mary Tomlinson, a Senior Writer at Gorilla.

Key accountabilities will include:

  • Written content drafting, revision and publication
  • Multimedia content outlining and scripting
  • Independent subject matter research
  • Subject matter interviewing
  • Occasional client meeting / workshop leadership
  • Some editing and QA/QC
  • Continuous improvement / ongoing education

Before applying, please review the following:

  • Who we are
  • Who we help and how
  • How our process works
  • Working at Gorilla 76 (note our benefits!)
  • FAQs

Your role

You’ll need to be equal parts learner and doer.

You’ll shadow subject matter interviews, customer research and workshops, and you’ll help other writers with practical tasks like online publication and preparing call reports.

But you’ll hone your own craft through experience, as well. First, by writing content for Gorilla’s internal marketing. Then, you’ll earn the responsibility to produce written work for our clients, as well.

Your written work

We provide a wide variety of written work for our clients. You’ll learn how to write:

  • Social media advertisements
  • Educational articles
  • Landing pages
  • Case studies
  • Brand narratives

Our writing process at Gorilla involves multiple layers of internal review, as well as client review. So you’ll receive lots of coaching from the acting editor-in-chief, as well as lots of feedback on your work from other members of the team. This is how you’ll learn by doing.

You'll be assigned additional duties as needed.

Your workday

No day is the same. No day is average.

Some days you’ll spend hours in a row drafting and editing. Some days you’ll bounce from small assignment to small assignment. Some days you’ll have lots of meetings and interviews. Some days you’ll be asked to drop it all to tackle a quick-turn project no one predicted was coming. It’s the nature of the work.

As such, organizing and prioritizing work to meet multiple deadlines is the name of the game. That means you need to keep your teammates in the loop all the time. Our work is collaborative and interdependent. You depend on the team and the team depends on you.

The Content Department

Writers, a videographer and the content director make up this dynamic team.

We come from many different places and professional backgrounds, but each has this in common: an exceptional skill for seeking information, understanding it and then presenting it so that others can, too. And we’ll always do it ethically. We care so much about that, we made a code of ethics. Read it here.

It’s a group of language nerds, technical geeks and bookworms who care about each other and about doing great work.
