Apple Valley News Now is seeking an innovative storyteller interested in anchoring local newscasts. We are looking for self-motivated, highly organized individuals with a strong work ethic. This position is located at KVEW-TV in Kennewick, Washington.

Pay range: $22/hour - $27/hour

What you'll do:
- Anchor newscasts and news briefs
- Deliver news accurately; engage viewers with excitement, urgency and sharp wit
- Develop story ideas; shoot, edit and write local news stories for TV & digital platforms
- Demonstrate editorial judgment using knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
- Produce newscasts & other roles as assigned by news director
- Publish content and generate story ideas through social media sites like Facebook and X
- Enterprise compelling stories for newscasts, website and other platforms
- Shoot and edit video with TV news cameras, digital devices, production software and apps
- Collaborate with co-workers on the best way to present/report stories
- Produce stories that our target audience will find valuable and relevant to their lives
- Maintain contacts and foster relationships in the community
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- Team player mindset
- Ability to edit using Edius preferred but not required
- Minimum four years of experience as a multimedia journalist/anchor
- Four-year degree in journalism, communications or equivalent field preferred
- Ability to present news stories professionally from a TV studio
- Sound editorial judgment and broad knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
- Strong broadcast and AP style writing skills
- Ability to work under extreme pressure and meet deadlines every day
- Ability to lift and carry 15 pounds
