NeueHouse currently operates across four different, but equally iconic, properties in New York City and Los Angeles:
- Our Madison Square (MSQ) House is situated in New York's iconic Flatiron District, was previously home for Tepper Galleries, a well-known Manhattan auction house for international artists and collectors in the 1930s - and neighbors the 69th Regiment Armory where the first International Exhibition of Modern Art was held.
- Our Hollywood House (HWD), which sits on Sunset Boulevard, is one of LA's most celebrated buildings and occupies the original CBS Studio (the world's first structure built intentionally for broadcast). Here genre- defining artists from Orson Wells and Lucille Ball to Janis Joplin, the Beach Boys, and Bob Dylan built their legacy.
- Our Venice Beach House (VB) was once the creative home to some of the most influential creative luminaries in art and entertainment including Hal Ashby, Oliver Stone, and David Hockney, NeueHouse Venice Beach is a new work, social, and cultural hub for the Venice creative community.
Reporting to the AV Manager, AV Technician will support the technical execution of all NeueHouse events, training of in-house production staff, and the organizational infrastructure of the broadcast studio. This person creates, curates, and facilitates unique experience elements for member-based and private hire events.
NeueHouse's team is lean and operates with a mindset of "no task is too small." The Senior AV Tech must expect to manage through ambiguity and will need to be ready to support all NH departments in meeting the needs of members and visitors.
Requirements
- The AV Technician Role is responsible for managing project scope for a large-scale events.
- Operate as a Project Manager on private events or op - eg. A1, V1, L1, General Technician if needed
- This position is responsible for the end-to-end execution of projects from event design and development through closing of event.
- Attend BEO meetings and join client site visits with the sales team.
- Connect with third-party vendors if needed to facilitate equipment and labor, and ensure that the client's vision for their event is fulfilled.
- Coordinate technical checks and advise on best practices for execution on all tech-related elements of a production
- Oversee and facilitate execution of all events requiring A/V support
- Assist with sourcing equipment rentals and labor to execute events that exceed the technological and/or labor needs of the space/event
- Ensure a smooth Run-Of-Show with regard to audio, lighting, and media playback
- Troubleshoot / resolve any technical issues presented before, during or after productions
- Facilitate setups, breakdowns, load-ins, technical checks, and quality assurance of media and equipment in event spaces
- Support across the house when required
- Conduct regular checks of AV equipment and report to AV Event Producer in regard to repairs, issues and upgrades
- Maintain, clean and organize AV Equipment in storage spaces
- Assisting Event Producers with various items as needed**
- Ability to take ownership of an entire Programming event audiovisual from start to finish**
- Setting up all AV equipment for programming events. Lighting, Audio, Video etc.
- Operating gear during live events and taking down gear after event ends
- Maintaining equipment onsite and organizing NH equipment
- Ingesting DCPs in the screening room and Testing prior to event
- Shipping DCPS out after
- Backing up I.T Team with conference room assistance with connecting to webcam, TV, Conference calls etc.
•4-8 years of previous relevant technical experience with recorded and elevated live programing.
•Ability to learn on the fly, troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
•Ability to deal with ambiguity and offer solutions to new requests.
•Strong understanding of signal flow with regards to audio, video, projection, and lighting
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•A team player who is punctual, reliable, organized, and self-motivated
•Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide. Ability to calculate electrical draw is a plus.
•Ability to successfully re-prioritize tasks in a moment's notice.
