WTTW (Chicago PBS) is seeking an outcomes-driven, enthusiastic, technically-savvy graphic designer/animator to join the creative services team. The ideal candidate will create compelling daily news, documentary, special, brand, and promo graphics packages. They will conceptualize and execute engaging on-air animations for promos, television shows and ancillary content, presentations, and more. An online portfolio demonstrating logo and brand design, typography, animation, motion graphics / 3D, typography, and color theory work is required for consideration. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Design, create, and animate inventive graphics packages and promos in fast-paced, outcomes-driven environment using compelling brand identity elements, motion graphics, and animation. These graphics will include branding elements, promos, show opens and closes, backgrounds, lower thirds, animations, snipes, logos, marketing assets, and more. Manage efficient and quick turnaround of graphics assets to support daily newsroom and other short- and long-term around-the-organization production and marketing needs. Collaborate with producers and marketing/creative services staff, taking projects from creative concept to final finish building off of requests, creative briefs, and style frames. Manage and account for time effectively to meet all milestones and delivery deadlines. Collaborate with marketing and creative services staff to create style guides and to design and maintain graphic and brand identity of organization. Manage creative assets library for efficient search and retrieval across team. Perform other duties as assigned. SKILLS: Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentation abilities. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Flexible and adaptable, while maintaining high levels of productivity and effectiveness under pressure on multiple projects with tight and competing deadlines. Thorough understanding of creative production planning and process; ability to estimate project scopes of work and time required to complete projects. Ability to foster and maintain positive relationships with production, creative services, and other key stakeholders. Willingness to work outside of traditional hours depending on linear television schedule shifts. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: At least 3 years of television broadcast graphic design with a proven portfolio of work. Hands-on knowledge and background in typography, layout, color, and logo design. Strong design and animation skills and in-depth understanding of After Effects and industry standard plug-ins. Expert-level hands-on proficiency utilizing Adobe CC Suite (After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere) and proficiency with Windows OS. EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in graphic arts or related field a plus. *Please note: this is an on-site position.* #J-18808-Ljbffr
