DESCRIPTION The Maryland Transit Administration (MTA) is recruiting for a Director of Digital Marketing and Content to join our team. This role is pivotal in developing and executing digital marketing and communication strategies that enhance the MTA brand and engage a diverse audience, including riders, stakeholders, and transit advocates. The Director will oversee the growth and maintenance of MTA’s digital platforms, ensuring a consistent and engaging user experience across all devices. This position requires a deep understanding of content strategy, digital content creation, and search engine optimization. This vacancy is located in Baltimore, MD KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Develop and manage digital marketing and communication strategies to drive engagement and optimize performance across web properties, web applications, and mobile platforms. Oversee content creation and ensure a consistent experience across all digital platforms. Utilize social media ad platforms and organic algorithm insights to enhance digital marketing efforts. Analyze web and social media performance to continually improve digital content and campaigns. Lead the adaptation of content for the web, ensuring it is visually compelling and easy to navigate. Manage multiple web projects from inception to launch, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery. Implement and manage programming projects to support agency needs. Coordinate web content updates across departments, maintaining quality control and consistency. Conduct QA/QC testing on all digital applications. Lead graphic design efforts for web and digital properties, including social media and digital advertising. Collaborate with vendors to optimize user experiences on MTA’s web properties. IDEAL CANDIDATE: Proven experience in digital marketing and content strategy. Strong understanding of SEO and web analytics tools. Expertise in social media platforms and their ad algorithms. Proficient in full stack web development, specifically PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. Excellent project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously. Strong graphic design skills and experience with digital advertising. Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Up-to-date with the latest trends in digital marketing and content creation. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in digital marketing, content strategy, or a related field. Notes: Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland. Relevant certifications in digital marketing, such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, or HubSpot Content Marketing. Certification in project management (PMP, Agile, etc.) is advantageous.
