Pacific Pros is seeking an experienced Design Manager to be a representative for Los Angeles World Airport (LAWA) supervising the airport facilities. Region: Los Angeles, CA Status: Full-time Opening: Winter/Fall 2024, Immediate Key Identifiers for this Position Experience with preparing Planning Documents and Preliminary Design Packages for Capital Projects (i.e. Business Case, Alternatives Analysis, Project Definition Books, Concept Design, Schematic Design, Technical Performance-Criteria, etc.) Experience with preparing comprehensive Design & Construction Documents (Design Development, Bidding & Procurement Documents, Plan-Check & Permit Submittals, Construction Documents, RFI & Submittal Reviews, Record Documents, etc.) Experience with Alternative Delivery Methods (Progressive Design-Build, CMAR, etc.) Experience with Aviation and the associated Regulatory Agencies (CBP, DHS, FAA, TSA, etc.) Experience with Plan-Check and Permitting (preferably in Los Angeles) Familiarity with the Planning, Design, Construction, Operations, and Maintenance of Airport Facilities (Terminals, Roadways, Runways, Infrastructure, etc.) Representative Responsibilities for a Design Manager Overseeing the review and approval of technical documents, and managing comment resolution. Facilitating meetings and being the technical liaison between the Developers/Design-Builders and ADP Subject Matter Expert teams. Reviewing project documents to ensure design requirements are clearly defined. Providing technical review of changes to scope of work for each project. Establishing submittal approval procedures and ensuring uniformity of review approach. Required Qualifications US Employment Authorization without needing sponsorship. Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, and/or related field. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Proven experience in working on complex, multi‐phase, multi‐million-dollar design and construction projects. Have a clear understanding of project cost, schedule, design, documentation, and quality control principles. Familiar with Planning & Design Software (AutoDesk, Sketchup, etc.). Able to multi‐task and work in a fast‐paced work environment. A valid Driver’s License and compliance with PACIFIC’s Vehicle Policy. Proficiency with common Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook), SharePoint and Adobe Acrobat (PDF files). Pre-employment drug test. Also, subject to drug and alcohol testing during the course of employment in accordance with PACIFIC’s Drug, Alcohol and Illegal Items Policy. 3+ References from Clients (Public Agency Representatives). The minimum years of design management varies based on the level: minimum 5, 10, 15, or 20 years. Preferred Qualifications Professionally licensed Architect and/or Engineer strongly preferred (but not required). Optional Certifications such as AAAE, CASp, LEED, PMP, ENV-SP, etc. are desirable. Experienced with PowerBI.
