To achieve this goal, we’re seeking an experienced design leader with depth of craft and people leadership experience to join our team. As the design leader for the QuickBooks Core Invoicing experience, you will partner closely with cross-functional partners and lead a team to deliver best-in-class invoicing solutions for small businesses globally.
Responsibilities
- Hybrid work
- On-site at our Mountain View campus 2 days per week, minimum
- Systems and practices acumen
- Champion the use of standardized tools, templates, and documentation
- Champion accurate interpretation and application of design system standards, patterns, and best practices
- Oversee the application of AU in the strategy and execution for AU assisted product experiences within the payments and invoicing domain
- Data fluency
- Regularly access dashboards for relevant data and define clear success criteria. Begin to leverage both quantitative and qualitative data to support hypotheses and understand trends
- Work closely with data partners to draw comprehensive behavioral insights. Start to collaborate with Product Development (PD) to ensure the design and build processes result in clean, usable data
- Use data to guide tests and innovations within design projects. Effectively communicate with senior leaders using data-driven insights
- Technical acumen
- Understand and partner with PD to develop a common language and knowledge of existing capabilities. Advocate for product quality from concept to code, understanding machine learning models and rule-based technology
- Business acumen
- Help drive roadmapping and planning conversations. Demonstrate ability to make informed, timely decisions based on accurate assessment of available information
- Have a clear POV of where their craft can have the most impact in the face of conflicting priorities. Develop innovative and creative solutions that effectively address significant business challenges
- Collaboration and culture
- Leverage industry knowledge and strategic insights to guide and support work. Present work with polish and confidence
- Lead meetings effectively, and represent their craft in various situations
- Grow skills in conflict resolution. Generate and maintain momentum. Be proficient at managing stakeholder expectations
- Uplevel the skills of others in craft and across design. Proactively suggest and drive activities that bring the team together. Participate in hiring activities such as interviewing and sourcing
- Lead teams and oversee the execution of multiple medium- to large-scale projects concurrently with high proficiency. Lead design projects for their craft
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Interaction Design, User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field
- At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in interaction or user experience design
- Strong portfolio showcasing experience as an IC and leader
- Strong knowledge of user-centered design principles and guidelines
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
