The Bridge Design Engineer position is fully supported by the entire Transportation team. The Bridge Design Engineer position is available in Wichita, KS, Lawrence, KS, Topeka KS, and Kansas City, MO.
Position Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs design computations by hand and by computer software. Uses experience, education, and judgment to make informed decisions. Retains knowledge and builds on previous experience to increase capabilities in breadth and complexity.
- Utilizes design software to complete project assignments.
- Effectively communicates and coordinates with Team Lead and project teams to complete design tasks on numerous projects.
- Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments.
- Prepares quantities for use in construction cost estimates, evaluation of alternates and bid letting.
- Reviews project submittals for compliance with design checklists and drafting standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
- B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with structural emphasis from an accredited college is required.
- Fundamentals of Engineering Exam Preferred; Intern Engineer (I.E.) Credentials are expected.
- Meet and understand critical deadlines through efficient time management and effective communication.
- Familiarity with Bentley Products and finite analysis software preferred.
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
