The Role:
We have an immediate need for a CAD Drafter with a genuine passion for excellence and a desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company.
This role will support our large-scale new product development projects. They will be responsible for creating 3D models and assemblies of parts and creating drawings per the appropriate standards. This candidate will be a vital participant in all design meetings and will lead the management of our SolidWorks PDM library.
Job Responsibilities:
- Create 3D models of assemblies and parts
- Create the following types of drawings:
- Construction drawings for Mechanical, Electrical
- Steel frame sheet metal and weldments
- Wire harness schematics and assembly drawings specifically using SolidWorks Electrical
- Various fastening mechanisms
- Details of machined parts
- Off-the-shelf mechanical and electrical components and vendor-controlled drawings
- Top Level and sub-assembly drawings optimized to match the MFG process
- Create 2D drawings following ASME standards and GD&T standards
- Selection of component parts and materials to be used in the above drawing types and creating Bills of Materials for procurement
- Create and manage assembly drawing tree structures to align and support integration into the company ERP system
- Support all sustaining DFM changes request from MFG engineering and production
- Interact with project, mechanical, and structural engineers in the creation of designs as well as with manufacturing vendors regarding design issues
- Create and process engineering changes and support the implementation of ECOs in accordance with the organization's change management procedures
- Actively participate in design reviews and meetings
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a similar position
- College and/or CAD Technical school degree preferred
- AS or Certificate in Solidworks or related field
- Experience in: SolidWorks 2D/3D modeling, SolidWorks PDM and experience managing large complex assembly data
- SolidWorks Electrical experience a big plus.
- Experience working in an assembly MFG environment
- Highly organized, detail-driven, and conscientious.
- Must have knowledge of the appropriate codes and standards which govern design and operating requirements.
- Working knowledge of scheduling software, Microsoft Office
Salary:
- $65-75K, based on qualifications and experience
