Job Summary Generates print and digital designs from concept to completion, manages workflow within given deadlines, exhibits attention to detail, and delivers completed projects in a timely manner. The Student Assistant for Design Services will work with university graphic designers to create designs based on knowledge of layout principles and aesthetic design concepts to produce pieces that are strategic, on-brand and that inspire and attract the requisite target audience. Duties: - Conceptualizes, designs, and produces packaging, advertising, branding, and collateral materials. - Meets with clients to understand project goals and requirements. - Helps manage projects including timeframe, deadlines, posting (go live), and print coordination. - Collaborates with university copywriters when appropriate to produce final design. - Collaborates with university photographers on photo shoots as necessary. - Converts existing low-resolution artwork or sketches from designers to a print-ready layered file. - Maintains job tickets in an orderly fashion and keeps track of hours worked and duties assigned. Minimum Qualifications Ability to work in a team setting. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, verbally, and in writing. Ability to solve problems independently. Flexibility in managing projects and deadlines. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Desired Qualifications - Preflight and proof layouts prior/post printing press. - Experience in searching and purchasing stock photographs to illustrate ads and news stories.
