In this role, you will lead a team responsible for being champions of the customers/end-users of the entire Gap Inc. technology spectrum, inclusive of digital touchpoints such as websites/apps, associate facing tech such as Store POS, enterprise tools etc. You and your team will ideate, research, vet, evangelize, design, and help deliver products that provide meaningful and relevant user experiences considering aspects such as branding, design, usability and function. You will lead a culture of design thinking across all Product and adjacent functions. You will mentor, inspire and grow your team by setting clear expectations, removing obstacles and creating an atmosphere that fosters innovative thinking.

Salary Range: $320,000- $360,000 USD
Employee pay will vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, skill level, competencies and work location. We will meet minimum wage or minimum of the pay range (whichever is higher) based on city, county and state requirements.What You'll Do
  • Lead the XD team, setting strategic direction for the function to impact business results across Gap Inc. brands and functions
  • Have operational responsibility for planning, budget, and end results
  • Lead discovery and exploration of new strategic opportunities and collaborate across functions and brands to define a holistic end-to-end user experience
  • Anticipate evolving customer needs and how the organization can address them with current or new products/services.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to influence roadmaps and strategic decisions. Involve a wider circle of people, who are not part of your formal team, in order to tap capabilities or perspectives that will enable better results.
  • Build capability of the entire XD team to support business needs and individual career aspirations. Develop talent through coaching, mentoring and providing support and guidance to the XD team.
  • Extensive professional experience with strong interaction and visual design skills; demonstrable experience with User Experience specifically
  • Proven record of delivering consumer led business outcomes through leadership of a function from structuring work, people and interdependences; prioritizing; executing under tight timeframes and presenting and influencing outcomes based on learnings
  • Able to filter, prioritize, analyze, and validate complex, in-depth understanding of concepts and procedures within UX and across key functions and business units.
  • Mastered lean design methodology, design thinking and experimentation; people regularly come to you for design direction and inspiration.

  • Incorporate brand and business partner priorities into your agenda, supporting brand strategies while holding to the long-term vision
  • Improve the product management function - processes, practices and deliverables
  • Develop effective partnerships across the organization, including with general managers, design, finance, engineering, data science and marketing stakeholders

Who You Are
  • Experienced, progressive UX/XD/Creative Design leadership experience
  • Strong track record of delivering and measuring product value
  • Significant experience in a large B2C retail environment
  • Experience managing teams of significant size - 20+ individuals; growing, coaching, hiring
  • Analytically driven - understand customer and business data, leverage data to make decisions, ensure products can be effectively measured
  • Managed large capital / technology investment priorities
  • Demonstrated ability to focus teams on customer needs and insights
  • Have worked effectively in a matrixed organization
