Job Summary:

As Spartan's Design Build Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the design-build delivery process for commercial construction projects. This role ensures alignment between design, preconstruction, and field operations teams to deliver high-quality, cost-effective, and timely projects. The Design Build Manager collaborates with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to streamline communication and ensure project success from conception through completion.

Requirements

Main Objectives and Responsibilities:

1. Project Leadership

  • Lead the design-build process, ensuring seamless integration of design, preconstruction, and construction activities.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to achieve client goals and project milestones.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering trust and ensuring satisfaction.

2. Team Collaboration

  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and consultants during the design phase to develop efficient, cost-effective solutions.
  • Partner with preconstruction teams to perform feasibility studies, value engineering, and budget analysis.
  • Coordinate with field operations teams to transition projects from design to construction.

3. Design Management

  • Oversee design activities to ensure compliance with project requirements, budgets, and timelines.
  • Review and approve design documents, ensuring constructability and adherence to company standards.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies in the design phase.

4. Client Relations and Business Development

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, architects, and other key stakeholders.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations, and interviews.
  • Work with the sales team to develop project opportunities in the design-build delivery model.

5. Continuous Improvement

  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices in design-build construction.
  • Identify process improvements and implement strategies to enhance efficiency and project outcomes.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of preconstruction and construction processes, including feasibility studies, value engineering, and estimating.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and construction software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in commercial construction, with a focus on design-build projects.
  • Proven track record of managing design-build delivery, from concept to completion.

Benefits
