As a 3-Axis CNC Operator with 3D CAD experience at Torpedo Design, you will play a crucial role in the manufacturing process by operating and maintaining our CNC machinery to produce intricate parts and components. Your CAD skills will also be essential in translating design concepts into functional CNC programs.
**CNC Machine Operation:**
-Set up and operate 3-axis CNC machines, ensuring optimal performance and precision.
-Load materials into the machine, secure workpieces, and adjust tooling as required.
-Monitor machine operation to detect any deviations, malfunctions, or quality issues.
**Program Development:**
-Utilize your 3D CAD expertise to create or modify CNC programs for the production of parts.
-Collaborate with engineering and design teams to understand project requirements.
-Troubleshoot and refine CNC programs to optimize efficiency and quality.
**Material Preparation:**
-Select appropriate materials, measure and cut them to size as needed.
-Understand and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate workpiece dimensions.
**Quality Assurance:**
-Perform quality checks on finished components, making adjustments as necessary to meet specifications.
-Implement quality control processes to minimize errors and waste.
**Maintenance and Safety:**
-Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn parts.
-Follow strict safety protocols and maintain a safe and organized workspace.
**Qualifications:**
-High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training is a plus.
-Proven experience as a 3-Axis CNC Operator, with expertise in setting up and operating CNC machines.
-Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) for program development.
-Strong understanding of engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.
-Knowledge of various materials, tools, and machining processes.
