We are trying to find a Designer Consultant to join our Marketing team. You will report to the Designer Consultant Manager and be responsible for serving a strategic link between our company and the design segment, focusing on establishing and nurturing relationships within the market. Your role involves collaborating closely with clients to understand their needs. Acting as a designer consultant, you will need to understand market needs and trends while supporting product integration and innovation within kitchen, bathroom, closet, and furniture design spaces. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Market Engagement and Relationship Building.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with kitchen & bath dealers and designers, closet dealers & designers, and interior designers. 
  • Become the primary contact for these stakeholders, addressing queries and providing support. 
  • Regularly update CRM with relationship details, line representation, and industry insights.
  • Support Blum’s brand, products and services, emphasizing quality, warranty, and the aesthetic and functional benefits of products. 
  • Advocate for new products and innovations with customers and within the organization based on feedback from the field. 
  • Conduct showroom health checks to ensure proper display and functionality of Blum hardware. 
  • Offer technical support and coordinate with installers on where to find the information necessary for adjustments during installations. 
  • Identify opportunities for additional Blum product displays in dealer showrooms. 
  • Monitor and report on market trends. 
  • Maintain activity logs in CRM and prepare reports on market engagement and performance. 
  • Attend major industry events to gather insights on current and future design trends. 
  • Attend events with designers, dealers and installers to discuss the advantages and installation of Blum products. 
  • Participate in and contribute to local and national NKBA chapter meetings and other relevant professional gatherings. 
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop customer surveys and gather feedback from designers. 
  • Engage in R&D initiatives with the AGE EXPLORER and focus on ergonomic designs and universal design principles. 
  • Collaborate and coordinate with the sales team on strategic product initiatives at key accounts & their dealers. 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, design, or a related field or equivalent experience.  
  • Proven experience in sales or consulting within the design industry, particularly with cabinetry products. 
  • Strong understanding of CRM systems and sales reporting. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Kitchen design experience a plus.
  • Prior experience working in the kitchen cabinet industry and associated markets is helpful.
  • Design – knowledge of design techniques, principles, tools, and instruments involved in the production and use of precision technical drawings.
  • Effective verbal & written communication skills.
  • Taking a systematic approach to solving problems by analyzing all relevant facts/issues before determining the root cause.
  • Establish & maintain collaborative partnerships with individuals at all levels of the organization as well as key customers that support the business.
  • Ability to teach in a classroom or workshop environment.
  • Meet tight deadlines without sacrificing accuracy & attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications & ability to learn new software quickly
  • Inspecting & evaluating the quality of work produced.
  • Strong organizational & time management skills & an ability to establish priorities.
