POSITION SUMMARY
The Community College of Aurora is looking for engaging, inclusive, and equity-minded instructors to teach Multimedia Graphic Design classes through dynamic, rigorous, and student-centered learning strategies in an asynchronous, online learning environment. We are seeking talented candidates who value and support the college's mission and goals of improving retention and success rates as well as closing the equity gap for underrepresented students. CCA expects quality instruction, high academic standards, high student support, and a strong commitment to student engagement and success.
This is a part-time, online instructor position. CCA's online courses are not self-paced but taught according to the college's defined parts of term. Colorado residency is required.

Salary: Instructional hours will be paid at the current Instructor rate, which is $1,149.00 per credit hour taught. Instructors are paid on a biweekly schedule. Site training and coordination will be paid on a contract basis.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Uphold the vision, mission, and values of the college.
- Maintain expertise in the subject area and effectively teach assigned online courses; develop lesson plans, activities, and assessments that lead students to successful attainment of course competencies and outcomes.
- Be knowledgeable about online pedagogy/andragogy, methods, retention, inclusion, and assessment of outcomes; be willing to participate in coaching/mentoring.
- Promote student success through inclusive, accessible, challenging, equity-minded, student-centered, and engaging instruction.
- Provide proactive and holistic support for students; this includes providing outreach, differential instruction with high expectations and high support for students of varied preparedness.
- Implement current and effective teaching and learning practices, including diversification of instructional delivery, incorporation of diverse sources and voices into curriculum, and demonstration of cultural competency in teaching.
- According to established timelines and expectations, create and provide a course syllabus for each assigned class to the department. Provide students with department approved syllabi by the first day of classes in the LMS.
- Maintain accurate records according to department/division/college expectations and guidelines, including Instructional Guideline 2.11, in the college LMS - Desire2Learn (D2L). Submit required records according to published instructions and deadlines.
- Evaluate student performance in a constructive, timely, and effective manner as stated in the course syllabus.
- Participate in all departmental and college-wide assessment practices.
- Complete all required instructional professional development activities including a departmental orientation and multiple trainings during their first semester.
- Stay current with and implement expectations by reading emails regularly and attending departmental, divisional, and college meetings as called by the Chair, Dean, Vice President of Academic Success, and President.
- Understand and uphold the vision, mission, and values of the college, while abiding by all relevant CCA guidelines, and CCCS/SBCCOE policies and procedures.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrate 2000 hours of verified paid or unpaid occupational experience in the industry.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn about and incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion in instruction.
- Knowledge of Multimedia Graphic Design software and hardware.
- An ability to articulate the "media" of multimedia, including print, 2D animation, web, sound, 3D animation, and video.
- Mastery in visual elements and the principles of design.
- Master's degree in Multimedia Graphic Design
- Experience teaching online college-level courses.
- Experience teaching in a community college setting.
- Knowledge and understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion in instruction.
- Mastery in Adobe Creative Cloud applications.
- Mastery in web design.
