Job Description
American Trash Management, Inc. (ATM) is seeking a skilled CAD Designer to join our Emeryville office. In this role, you will develop trash equipment systems for a wide range of projects, ensuring efficient and code-compliant designs. You will work closely with the Design Manager and Project Managers to deliver trash management and loading logistics systems that meet both client needs and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Develop solid waste and loading logistics systems by interpreting architectural floor plans, ensuring seamless integration into building layouts.
- Create detailed CAD drawings and truck-turning models for schematic design, design development, and construction documents.
- Collaborate with architects, contractors, MEP designers, civil engineers, and other stakeholders to refine designs and ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Prepare specifications for trash and loading equipment.
- Ensure all designs meet ATM standards, industry regulations, and building codes.
- Solve complex design challenges to improve system performance and efficiency.
- Stay up to date with CAD software, industry tools, and best practices.
- Provide technical support to project teams, ensuring smooth integration of trash and loading systems into project designs.
- Perform quality checks before submitting for approval to Project Managers.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Environmental Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of relevant work experience.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and AutoTURN.
- Functional knowledge of Revit.
- Strong understanding of construction practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team.
- Familiarity with architectural plans and building codes is a plus.
