Job Title: Designer/Drafter

Department: Engineering

Reports to: Design Engineering Manager

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Travel: Up to 20% travel may be required

Locations: Plymouth, WI, Gnadenhutten, OH, Fort Madison, IA, Anderson, SC, Northbridge, MA


Summary:

A Designer/Drafter is responsible for collaborating with Operations and Commercial teams to provide product quoting and pricing; Creating technical drawings and plans for new products, improving, or modifying existing products, and ensuring that all designs meet the required specifications.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

· Create technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software

· Collaborate with engineers and architects to ensure designs meet project requirements

· Review and revise drawings to ensure accuracy and completeness

· Maintain project documentation and ensure all drawings are up-to-date

· Communicate with project managers and other team members to ensure project timelines are met

· Provide cost rollups on various projects

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements

· Provide assistance to design engineering and commercial teams, including travel for on-site support

· Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements/Work Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in engineering disciplines with packaging engineering preferred

· Proven experience in design or drafting with 3+ years of component design experience within manufacturing environment, packaging componentry experience is preferred.

· Proficiency in CAD software


Minimum Requirements

· Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks efficiently.

· Knowledge of industry standards/regulations and customer requirements as related to design and drafting.

· Strong knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and engineering principles

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Attention to detail and ability to multitasking.

Reasoning Ability:

· Strong analytical skill set and demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams

to quickly analyze problems and develop effective solutions.

· Ability to quickly adapt to changes in work environment and manage competing demands.

· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

· To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient with Microsoft Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS, and other data entry, Order processing systems and Database software. Salesforce.com a plus. Proficient in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
