Eaton’s ES AMER PCS division is currently seeking a Master Designer. What you’ll do: PRIMARY FUNCTION: Deliver successful mechanical and electro-mechanical designs using Creo 7.0 as a member of the Design Services Team. Includes generating 3D concept models, final industrialized designs and detailed drawing specification packages under the guidance of project engineers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Create robust and flexible part and assembly CAD models to support department engineering teams. Perform 3D modeling and simulation to compare, evaluate and select concepts for development Participate fully in creating, measuring and evaluating prototypes to identify and resolve design problems. Design parts for molding, stamping, machining, casting, extrusion, and powder metal using standard materials. Optimize part and assembly designs for performance, manufacturability, and cost. Create and revise engineering drawings of parts and assemblies to support manufacturing tooling, fixtures, equipment, and the inspection of components. Create functional dimension and tolerance schemes with consideration of manufacturing process capability and perform worst-case tolerance stacks on circuit breaker assemblies to optimize designs. Participate in print reviews. Control engineering documents and models using engineering change orders within a product data management system. Support tooling and industrialization by evaluating production part samples, reviewing first article inspections, and analyzing deviations. Provide CAD-based illustrations for presentations, manufacturing instructions, and product literature. Maintain current knowledge of CAD, design/manufacturing technologies applicable to the product line and cross-train to share knowledge across the team. Apply industry and team standards/best practices to modeling, drawing and data management to support collaboration. Provide status updates and be accountable for deliverables for new product development projects. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date before December 2024. Minimum GPA 2.8 2 years of experience in design & development 2 years of experience working with 3D CAD Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship. Preferred Qualifications: 3 years of experience with PTC Creo Experience working with Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) Experience with Six-Sigma quality tools Experience with software to conduct FEA stress analysis. Position Criteria: 3D CAD modeling knowledge/experience, as well as engineering drawing skills. Creative, mechanical problem solving. Must understand basic requirements of component design for manufacture (molding, stamping, casting, machining, brazing/welding, assembly) and possess a working knowledge of tolerance stack analysis Knowledge of kinematic simulation, metrology, laboratory, and shop skills Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The salary for this is $80,000 a year, dependent on the work location and qualifications met. This position offers a one-time $6,000 signing bonus and relocation lump sum package.
