Designer/Pipeline Mapper Job at Hunt-Guillot & Associates in Ruston

Position Summary & Duties: The Civil Mapping Designer position is a direct-hire position working for HGA's Integrated Services Business Unit in our Ruston, LA, Birmingham, AL, Lexington, KY, or Hattiesburg, MS office. The Civil Mapping Designer performs a variety of civil drafting and design duties with minimal supervision. Prepares drawings in accordance with the appropriate drafting standards. Prepares drawings from a conceptual layout to detailed finished product. Requires a general knowledge of civil engineering design principles and practices. Position requires experience in topographic surveys, pipeline design, site design, or similar experience. Responsibilities: • Prepares Property Plats, Alignment Sheets, Permit Drawings, HDD Drawings, and other similar mapping products. • Produce neat, accurate, and legible construction drawings packages according to company procedures and drafting standards with minimal supervision. • Designer work must be accurate, very thorough and must pay attention to detail. • Assumes responsibility for technical accuracy and constructability of finished designs. • Capable of obtaining accurate field data • Interprets general design information and calculations. • Work with all disciplines and with minimal supervision. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent is required. • Technical school or college is strongly preferred. • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil design and drafting with AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or ArcGIS. • Experience with a consulting engineering or survey firm is preferred. • This is a direct-hire position and will require being in the office daily. • Must live within daily commuting distance of our Ruston, LA, Birmingham, AL, Lexington, KY, or Hattiesburg, MS office.
