As a Utility Designer, your primary role is to provide technical and production support for the development of utility permitting and construction plans, using AutoCAD Civil 3D technology. 

Your Primary Responsibilities will include
  • Provide technical and production support for the development of utility construction plans, exhibits, maps, diagrams, and drawings under the direction of a licensed civil engineer
  • Create cover sheets, note sheets, demolition and erosion control sheets, site plans, utility plan and profile sheets, cross-sections sheets, SWPPP, and utility detail sheets for the following
    • Sewer and water relocation 
    • New sewer and water infrastructure
    • Lift stations and pump stations
    • Wastewater Treatment and Water Treatment Plants a plus
  • All production components shall be created using AutoCAD Civil 3D. This includes ease to follow layering system, alignments, profile, profile view, cross-sections, cross-section view, surfaces, grading objects, feature lines, pipe networks, smart labels for all 3d components 
  • Ability to prepare conceptual designs utilizing a combination of Google Earth, AutoCAD, and/or civil 3d as appropriate
  • Visit job sites and consultant offices as needed to support the project and business development needs
  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, drawings, and exhibits
  • Work within project scopes, schedules, and budgets for projects 

What you'll need
  • One (1) to two (2) years of experience using ACAD, Civil 3D
  •  Ability to read and interpret basic technical documents and apply drafting/CADD techniques to project tasks.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office suite of programs 
  • Background knowledge in utility design
  • Interpersonal skills. desire, willingness, and ability to teach
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Ability to effectively present information to individuals and groups
  • High school diploma or field related work experience and/or Certification in a related field is acceptable
  • Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history
