- Assist with developing AutoCAD designs, clarification sketches, concepts, and sample layouts based on knowledge of layout principles, aesthetic design concepts, and technical requirements.
- Communicate with CAD Designer and management on a regular basis regarding delivery of project requirements as they relate to scope, quantities, cost and schedule.
- Perform non-complex detailing, redrawing, lettering and tracing of drawings on components, assemblies and engineering change orders.
- Revise AutoCAD designs and comply with modified specifications requested during the design effort.
- Mark up, revise, and assemble final AutoCAD layouts to prepare for plotting.
- Contribute design modifications to improve the product quality and function.
- Take direction from engineers on new product development as well as sustaining and cost reduction projects.
- Read and understand architectural plans; site specific foundation layout for commercial and residential projects.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
- Work with local entities to apply and obtain permits according to their specifications.
- Other duties as required or assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and/or experience preferred
- At least one year experience as CAD designer in a service provider in a similar role
- Intermediate understanding and practical experience with AutoCAD, base-mapping, fundamental knowledge of running line, conduit, cable design fiber optics, manholes, and hand holes
- Understanding and practical experience with permitting protocols
- Knowledge of design tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models
- Proven ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email)
- Must possess good written and oral presentation skills and the ability to communicate ideas effectively to coworkers, senior management
- Comfortable and effective working with senior-level executives and external entities
