Global Refuge is currently seeking a creative and dedicated Graphic Designer to join our Communications team for a 6-month contract position, with the possibility of an extension. The ideal candidate is creative, and fun, and has a keen eye for design and a strong sense of brand identity. They can work independently and as a team, possess strong problem-solving skills, and understand how to design for varied audiences. This position can be remote with occasional trips to Baltimore as needed. Please join us as we make a difference in the lives of newcomers. DUTIES Create compelling and effective one-pagers, brochures, policy papers, and reports. Design graphics and thumbnails for multimedia projects and social media. Update the organizational PowerPoint template to make it more user-friendly for staff. Create a series of templates that can be used in internal and external communications that align with brand standards. Implement, uphold, and edit the brand style guide to ensure consistency across all visual media. Develop unique storytelling art and graphics. Collaborate with the team to brainstorm and develop new creative concepts for advertising, marketing, and editorial campaigns. Manage multiple projects from concept through completion under tight deadlines. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent education and experience. 5+ years of proven graphic designing experience. Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality graphic design work. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator, plus Canva, and other visual design tools. Experience designing advertising, and marketing materials Experience creating graphics using web standards Ability to work independently and as a team, and complete assigned tasks within identified timeframes. Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and an ability to think out of the box. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate can also help on multi-media projects, has experience working for a non-profit, and has designed communications and marketing collateral in different languages.
