Job Summary
Oldcastle APG is seeking a Sr. Graphic Designer responsible for the guidance of creative associates and design across all traditional channels for Oldcastle APG brands. These responsibilities include creating and communicating concepts and implementing promotional/marketing strategies by developing creative solutions to communicate to consumers, pros, and other channel customers. As the number one outdoor living solutions manufacturer in North America, this role will work with the team to successfully translate concepts to visual expression, balancing creative thinking with solid leadership skills influencing production artists, copywriters, designers, and brand leaders.
Job Responsibilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams with an action-oriented, positive, and proactive mindset
- Present artwork and communicate vision to senior leadership as relevant to customer needs and market trends
- Manage multiple design workflows and deadlines within a fast-paced and collaborative environment using project management tools including Adobe Workfront
- Function as a brand steward to ensure brand standards and guidelines are maintained with our cross-functional and external partners
- Continuously explore the industry’s best practices to maximize creativity, inspire others and improve team efficiencies
A Day In The Life
- Effectively design and provide art direction across multiple design disciplines with a primary focus on print graphics including brochures, catalogs, signage, print advertising, tradeshow experiences, packaging, branded apparel/products, and point-of-purchase
- Manage creation of design templates for multiple Bynder modules including Print Brand Templates and Brand Guidelines
- Provide support as needed to the Digital Design Team including brand work, Bynder Studio templates, and digital graphics for email marketing campaigns, social media platforms, and website
- Take ideas from concept to execution by working closely with Brand teams, Creative Services Managers, internal and external partners, and production teams to deliver completed projects in a timely manner
- Solve challenges through strategically insightful and creative design executed at a world-class level
- Develop creative and graphic concepts that can be successfully measured against creative briefs
- Interact and collaborate regularly with Creative Director, Creative Services team members, and Brand team members for the completion of assigned projects
- Seek out opportunities for improving efficiencies across Creative Services teams
- Manage a minimum of one direct report
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, illustration, or industrial design – or related experience
- 7+ years of experience in graphic design in a branded content, agency, editorial or marketing environment creating and launching campaign content
- 5+ years of print-specific graphic design experience
- Strong conceptual abilities, sophisticated sense of color and layout with an eye for cropping/selecting photography
- Excellent knowledge of design, typography, and branding fundamentals
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Cloud applications on the Mac Platform: InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
- Management of at least 1 direct report
- Knowledge of InDesign scripting and automations preferred
- Willingness to work in-office 3-5 days per week, as required
- Willingness to assist Creative Services managers with administrative tasks
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate confidently and professionally
- Experience in additional Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as XD (Sketch/Figma comparable) or After Effects is a plus
- Experience with Adobe Workfront and Microsoft Teams workflows preferred
- Experience with creation of Bynder templates is a plus
- Experience with Fiery Digital Print Server outputs is a plus
- Full understanding of digital platforms to ensure all electronic files are built responsibly (smallest size, proper naming conventions, and error free)
