We are seeking a highly motivated Media Editor with a passion for education and a strong visual storytelling ability. In this role, you will collaborate with editors, designers, and project managers to identify and source photography, video, interactive images, and other media for digital and print projects aimed at K-12 learners. You will perform media research, acquisition, licensing, and file processing, ensuring a balance between project needs, budget constraints, and editorial accuracy.

A Successful Candidate Will Have the Following:


  • Select and curate media for digital and print publications.
  • Ensure the accuracy, relevancy, and growth of our media content, maintaining a high standard of quality and a flow of media for online products.
  • Actively seek out new media sources, negotiate favorable terms, and ensure the availability of diverse media options.
  • Maintain the company's Digital Asset Management system.
  • Oversee media licensing and purchasing processes.
  • Support editorial staff in sourcing, acquiring, and processing media.
  • Handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet strict deadlines.


Here’s a look at the essential duties of this role:


  • Minimum of two years of photo editing experience in publishing or education.
  • Extensive knowledge of photo agencies, licensing processes, and media rights management; familiarity with royalty-free, rights-managed, and Creative Commons licenses.
  • Experience editing video, audio, and images; proficiency with Adobe Photoshop and InDesign and familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut.
  • Experience with Digital Asset Management systems (e.g., Brandfolder) and Content Management Systems (e.g., Contentful).
  • Self-directed, highly organized, and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage a high volume of work.
  • All other duties as required.
