Salary : $90,000 - $100,000 per year Location : Onsite role in Columbus, OH
Position Summary:
A nonprofit Christian faith-based organization is seeking an Executive Director to lead its benefits administration. This full-time role, based in Columbus, Ohio, reports to the Vice President of Operations and Finance and oversees all aspects of domestic and international employee benefit plans. The role supports the organization's mission of service and community impact through high-quality benefits management. Responsibilities of the Executive Director of Benefits:
Leadership and Management : Directs the benefits team, overseeing sales, operations, risk management, and administration of health and retirement plans. Prepares annual budgets and coordinates audits.
Staff Supervision : Manages and supports the benefits team, including performance evaluations and coaching.
Business Development : Builds relationships and promotes benefits programs through outreach to participants, churches, and affiliates.
Collaboration and Representation : Coordinates with third-party consultants and associations and may serve on related boards.
Product Management : Oversees self-funded health plans, ensuring competitive pricing and effective marketing strategies.
Investment Oversight : Serves on the 403(b) Investment Committee, managing investments and fund performance.
Reporting : Prepares reports for the Benefit Board, including updates on plan performance and strategy.
Event Participation : Engages in biannual general meetings, assisting participants with benefits inquiries and issues.
Qualifications
of the Executive Director of Benefits:
Bachelor's degree in a related field required
10+ years in benefits management or a related area
Nonprofit experience is a plus
