Staff Accountant Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of financial transactions. This role is essential for maintaining the financial health of the company and supporting the accounting departments objectives.
Staff Accountant Key Responsibilities: General Ledger Management:
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring accurate and timely financial data.
Financial Reporting: Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
Accounts Payable and Receivable: Process invoices, verify accuracy, and manage payment schedules. Monitor and manage accounts receivable, including collections and aging reports.
Month-End and Year-End Close: Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, including account reconciliations and accruals. Assist in preparing and reviewing financial schedules and reports.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. Monitor budget performance and variances, providing insights and recommendations.
Compliance and Controls: Ensure compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and regulatory requirements. Assist in the development and implementation of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Audit Support: Provide support during internal and external audits. Prepare documentation and respond to audit inquiries as needed.
Staff Accountant Qualifications: Education:
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Experience:
1-3 years of accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Technical Skills:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Knowledge:
Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting. Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities. Communication:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
