SUMMARY

A Demand Planner is responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products (units/revenue). Creates and maintains forecast models by SKU for key accounts, incorporating business intelligence and forecast information gathered from sales, marketing, finance, and customers.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Analyze factors impacting demand for mobile accessory products (e.g., category trends, promotions, competitive products, seasonality, retail consumption, indirect channels), and build statistical models that quantify the business environment.
  • Manage demand forecasts based on trends, seasonality, and promotions while factoring in channel inventory, in-stock %, and life cycle of products.
  • Lead collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment meetings with key accounts.
  • Partner with Sales, Product Management, Procurement, and customers to collectively make decisions that minimize the negative financial impact.
  • Achieve forecast accuracy, inventory, service level, and customer in-stock % targets.
  • Communicate material shortages and delays to appropriate customer contacts.
  • Lead S&OP meetings for respective channels.
  • Management of customer location inventory levels by using statistical methods.
  • Set Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) store minimum levels and RMA process.
  • Follow ISO/TL9000 requirements as it pertains to the position.
  • Prepare reports to identify key metrics.

 

SKILLS

  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, sum-ifs, conditional formatting, lookups).
  • Strong problem-solving skills: the ability to analyze situations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; able to present ideas in an easy-to-understand engaging manner.
  • Able to complete projects under tight deadlines, even when there are competing requirements and changes in assignments.
  • Organized, detail-oriented; able to prioritize effectively.
  • Able to execute responsibilities with minimal supervision.
  • Able to work in a team environment.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIY

This position has no supervisory responsibility.


WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position operates in a professional office environment.  This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is a sedentary role; however, some light lifting is required.  This would require the ability to lift a 10 lb. box, open the box, and bend or stand as necessary.

 

POSITION TYPE AND EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

This is a full-time, Hybrid, or in-office position.  Normal business days are Monday through Friday.  Work hours will be assigned in advance.


TRAVEL

Up to 15% travel is expected for this position.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • BA/BS degree, plus 2 years of supply chain experience; or 5 years of supply chain-related experience
  • Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
  • Vendor Management Inventory (VMI) management experience, a plus.
