Job Description
KEY REQUIREMENTS:
- Traditional & Digital Experience - Must have 5+ years' experience in Traditional & Digital media – including planning and buying digital, OOH & print
- Multicultural Segments Experience - developing media plans/buys reaching diverse audiences specifically Hispanic and/or African American
- Client-Facing Experience - with proven strong written and presentation skills
- Education Category Experience a plus
About the Job
The primary responsibility of the Sr. Planner/Buyer is to develop Media strategy and recommendations for clients and prospects, as well as identify relevant trends in the marketplace to enhance our role as thought leaders. Outstanding research and negotiating skills are important in this position, as they must be able to recognize valuable opportunities from all angles. Good interpersonal skills, the ability to work well with teams, and establish strong media partnerships.
CORE DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop plan recommendations based on solid audience research findings and media user behavior
- Work with internal teams through plan development and ensure recommendation delivers on campaign objectives
- High level of client exposure and communication
- Manage day to day with client
- Prepare and issue creative specs and guidelines to client
- Analyze campaign performance and provide optimization recommendations
- Prepare flowcharts and budgets for media plan using Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite
- Review and verify media buys, ensure proper execution, and resolve any discrepancies
- Negotiate advertising contracts with media companies to determine pricing and schedules.
- Provide research for and help write media Point-Of-Views (POVs)
- Meet with sales reps to analyze value and applicability of media vehicles for client media plans
- Keep current on industry trends
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or a related field.
- Experience in multi-cultural media
- A complete knowledge of traditional and digital media concepts and practices
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, both written and verbal
- Bilingual English/Spanish a plus
- Direct Response experience a plus
- Fully Remote - Chicago area
