Salary: $67,912.00 Annually Location : South County, FL Job Type: Full Time Job Number: 00143 Department: SUPPORT SERVICES Division: MARKETING Opening Date: 11/15/2024 Closing Date: Continuous JOB DESCRIPTION This professional public communications work involves a variety of proactive public information campaigns with identified goals and measurable results. The Marketing Manager develops and implements ideas, activities and programs that create a positive and persuasive organizational image and message that connects with the community to achieve increased ridership and public support through public relations, advertising and marketing initiatives. An employee in a position allocated to this class coordinates a variety of informational projects to keep the public aware of the County's programs, needs, special projects and accomplishments. Works with Legislative & Government Affairs to help maintain relationships with local, state and federal elected officials, and stakeholders to advance public transportation issues. Monitors interim activities when the state legislature is not in session. Work involves gathering, writing and editing material to be released to the news media, grants, periodicals, or department brochures and pamphlets. Work requires independent judgment and initiative and is performed under the direct supervision of the Senior Manager of Public Relations through conferences, periodic reports and evaluation of results achieved. QUALIFICATIONS High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years of experience in marketing/communications management; OR an associate degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field and five (5) years of experience as listed above; OR a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Business Administration, or a related field and three (3) years of experience as listed above. An equivalent combination of education, certification, training and/or experience will be considered. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION Valid Florida State Driver's License. Ability to lift equipment and/or supplies weighing ten (10) pounds.
