Digital Marketing Strategist The Post and Courier The Digital Marketing Strategist will serve as a driver of digital marketing revenue for Evening Post Publishing’s Lowcountry operations through direct selling and supporting the team of retail account executives. This position supports the work of The Post and Courier, Summerville Communications, and Island Publications’ advertising staffs. The Digital Marketing Strategist is a digital champion internally that serves to drive increased revenue from digital marketing services, as well as client strategy, satisfaction and retention. This candidate must be able to sell digital advertising and agency services as well as coach, train, and lead all account executives to attain individual and collective digital goals across all of our O&O platforms. The Digital Marketing Strategist also works alongside P&C’s Director of Digital Sales and digital marketing team to plan, launch, monitor and adjust our clients’ digital marketing campaigns. This position should offer pre-sale strategy and support to the P&C sales team, including but not limited to participating in whiteboard sessions, seeking digital marketing quotes/estimates, offering data and research for the pitch and building digital proposals. RESPONSIBILITIES: Assume a key role in driving The Post and Courier, Summerville Communications, and Island Publications sales team to exceed all digital advertising revenue goals Responsible for the momentum of digital marketing sales efforts and revenue generation in the Charleston DMA, working directly with Sales Managers, Multimedia Account Executives, and O&O and King and Columbus ad operation teams. Join account executives and sales managers on discovery meetings, client proposals, reporting reviews, etc. Lead digital reporting discussions with clients, connecting campaign metrics, data and trends to clients’ objectives and marketing strategies. Offer first-in-class client service, research and market analysis for small and medium sized businesses in the Lowcountry. Create digital sales presentations and proposals to ensure that clients receive the appropriate digital media products, services and rates to meet their business needs. Engage in ‘whiteboard’ discussions to develop strategy and creative recommendations for prospective and current clients. Produce budget estimates for paid search, social ad campaigns, and more. Secure digital services quotes and digital audits as needed to develop proposals and product/pricing recommendations for clients. Utilize tech stack and other tools to research and analyze clients’ competitive landscape, industry trends, existing digital and social presence, and relevant keywords. Conduct research and integrate trends and data into client presentations. Develop multi-pronged marketing solutions, and communicate changes in direction, products, expectations, processes, and standards as they pertain to client’s digital marketing campaigns. Lead client onboarding calls as needed for new digital marketing clients once the partnership has been secured. Develop prospecting and sales strategy for advertising departments to drive new digital revenue. Continual learning in the digital marketing space, keeping up with platform changes, latest trends, emerging opportunities and campaign targeting capabilities. Train colleagues on digital marketing strategies, products and platforms as needed. Consult clients on all media solutions, offerings and performance metrics as they relate to their business needs. Develop and/or conduct digital product and strategy trainings as requested by EPP management. Other duties are assigned by the Director of Digital Sales. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in marketing, advertising, communications or similar field 4 years minimum marketing or sales experience required with 2 years of digital marketing experience required. Experience in developing strategic marketing campaigns and relationship-building sales success. Strong understanding of media solutions and the respective ad platforms: SEM, SEO, streaming video, Programmatic Display/Video, Sponsored Content Experience selling digital advertising space across different owned and operated channels. Experience demonstrating the value proposition of first party data, proprietary audiences and contextual advertising.
