Story Construction is hiring: Marketing Intern in Ames

Position Summary: 

The Marketing Intern will support Story Construction’s marketing efforts by organizing digital assets, creating content for newsletters and social media, and developing photo, video, and graphic materials. The role includes producing monthly safety videos, assisting with internal communications, and providing graphic design support across departments. The ideal candidate is a highly creative individual with a knack for graphic design and developing photo and video content. This is a part-time (15 - 20 hours per week) position beginning January 2025, followed by enrollment in Story's summer internship program, with eligibly to continue part time into the following school year. This position reports directly to the Marketing & Development Manager.

Summary of Duties: 

• Exhibit Story’s core values of Positive, Caring, Integrity, Teamwork, Helpful and Planful
• Assist in reviewing and organizing physical and digital marketing assets
• Assist with research, interviewing, and writing of component pieces for newsletters and social media content
• Development of photo, video and audio content for web and social media
• Support the company’s safety initiatives by developing engaging safety videos on a monthly basis
• Provide graphic design support for various departments at Story Construction as needed
• Lead several internal communications efforts
• Assist with materials and details for scheduled events
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• Must be a current Junior or Senior enrolled in Marketing, Graphic Design, Advertising, Communications, or similar program
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite applications
• Proficiency with social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn, and TikTok
• Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro
• Understanding of graphic design concepts and adherence to brand standards
• Experience using photography and videography equipment 
• Must have a valid drivers license 

Travel: Occasional jobsite visits to create photo and video content is required. Jobsites are located across Central Iowa. No overnight travel required. 

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: 

Primarily works out of the office; however, may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, vibrations, loud noises, and more within OSHA standards when visited the jobsite. Employees may be exposed to outdoor conditions that include inclement weather such as heat, humidity, cold, wind, and dust. May be expected to carry up to 30 pounds, stand for long periods of time, walk for moderate-to-long distances on varying surface conditions, climb, crawl, crouch, reach, grip, push, and pull without issue.
