To see more, please view: www.unitedsikhs.orgUNITED SIKHS is currently seeking an energetic self-starter to join its fast-paced Media Team as a specialist and creative PR writer. This person will be responsible for media outreach and follow-up: maintain media relationships, draft and distribute media communications to our donors and supporters, while also writing publications on online platforms and monitoring media coverage.Specific Responsibilities Include:Collaborate with the senior leadership to develop communications strategies that will broaden programmatic reach and deepen impact. Represent senior leadership in meetings.Lead events to plan, strategize and create a meaningful value proposition and present it to the right audiences.Develop and refine UNITED SIKHS' core messages to ensure organizational consistency.Identify significant media and public policy issues that can be leveraged to support UNITED SIKHS' work, and create and implement plans to exploit them.Serve as executive editor for the organization's website.Oversee organizational response to inquiries about UNITED SIKHS.Monitor top influencers, competitors, media, and industry trends for potentially shareable content.Maintain an existing network of contacts in the media and find landing spots for the organization.Participate with other department staff in key areas where public relations and social media impact organizational objectives and goals.Support consistency of the organization’s message in all PR materials and assist with design and proofing.The Ideal Candidate:10-12 years of public relations and social media experience in a professional setting, particularly in political affairs while working for the US Congress.Masters' degree in public relations, marketing/communications, English, journalism, or a related field; or equivalent work experience.Strong writing and communication skills.Comfortable working independently and as part of a small, dynamic team.Superior organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.Proficiency with Microsoft programs and knowledge of Photoshop preferred.Knowledge of communication technologies including social networking, blogs, YouTube, etc.Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of departmental structure, policies, and procedures.To Apply: Please send:1) a copy of your latest updated resume.
