We are currently seeking a talented Social Media Specialist/Strategist to join our Communications team. This role is crucial in ensuring the successful execution of social media strategies for federal government contracts, specifically for the Department of Justice (DOJ).


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and grow DSG’s social media presence by developing audience-focused, engaging content across multiple platforms (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, etc.).
  • Create, write, and schedule social media posts, highlighting agency announcements, reports, press releases, publications, job postings, and open press events.
  • Develop digital communication products that align with client objectives, while implementing creative ways to engage the public and extend the reach of the agency.
  • Monitor and analyze social media metrics and audience engagement data to generate actionable insights and drive platform growth.
  • Research and write communication materials, including content on complex or sensitive topics, for publication on DOJ digital platforms.
  • Collaborate with the digital media team to plan and organize content, maintain the digital media content calendar, and manage the social media scheduling calendar.
  • Stay up-to-date with social media trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance campaign performance.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience managing social media accounts and developing content strategies.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, audience engagement strategies, and best practices for platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
  • Proven ability to write and edit compelling copy that connects with diverse audiences.
  • Excellent analytical skills for tracking and interpreting social media metrics and using data-driven insights to improve content performance.
  • Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines, and work in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with a creative and critical mindset for advancing client projects.
  • Ability to establish trusted relationships with clients and stakeholders.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).

Security Clearance: Public Trust security clearance is a plus but not required.
