$20 - $22
6-month assignment (starting in January)

Job Summary:
The Coordinator, Digital Media will play a key role in supporting the college’s online presence and digital engagement strategy with diverse audiences. This position will contribute to developing and implementing social media strategies, assist with designing and updating web content, create engaging multimedia content, and monitor online conversations to foster a positive and informative community.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Applicants may be asked to demonstrate any or all of the following duties:
1. Create and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with the college's overall marketing and communication goals.
2. Assist in creating and updating web content, designing new pages, and developing supporting visuals and infographics to enhance the College’s digital presence and strategy.
3. Develop engaging and informative content for various social media platforms and websites, including text, images, and videos.
4. Monitor and respond to social media comments, messages, and mentions in a timely and professional manner.
5. Track and analyze social media and web metrics to measure performance and identify areas for improvement.
6. Maintains the news and public information shared on the College’s social media channels for relevance and freshness.
7. Work closely with other departments, such as marketing, admissions, and student affairs, to coordinate social media and web efforts to ensure brand consistency.
8. Implements and monitors public information campaigns and evaluates effectiveness of publicity efforts.
9. Works with Associate Vice President in developing and implementing crisis communication plans for social media during emergencies or sensitive situations.
10. Create and manage paid social media advertising campaigns to reach targeted audiences and drive engagement.
11. Keep abreast of the latest social media and web trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
12. Knowledge of platform management and advertising practices for Meta (Facebook, Instagram), Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and others.
13. Works outside the typical workday to assist in meeting deadlines or supporting the Department at special events, including graduation.
14. Performs other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Marketing, Communications or Journalism) and three to five years of professional experience in social media or public relations in an education environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with social media, TV, radio, and/or the Web, and the ability to select the appropriate media for the message.
- Exceptional writing skills in different styles (i.e., reporting, feature writing, expository, and persuasive). Demonstrated proficiency and resourcefulness in the use of all media formats, including new media, or social media, as well as traditional print and broadcast.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Ability to compile and organize documents. Ability to multi-task and function as part of a team.
- Ability to maintain a calm demeanor in a deadline-driven office.
• Social Media Platforms: Advanced knowledge of major social media platforms, including content scheduling, engagement tracking, and basic analytics.
• Content Management: Basic familiarity with WordPress to assist with web content updates.
• Web Content Editing: Basic understanding of HTML and CSS for content adjustments (no programming experience required).
• General Software: Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365-word processing and email software, with a working knowledge of spreadsheets.
• Creative Tools: Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator, for creating or adjusting images and graphics.
• Web Design Awareness: Understanding of general web design concepts to enhance website content and support user-friendly layouts.
