Summary:
The Social Media Coordinator at Gila River Development will assist in developing and implementing an engaging social media presence to support the organization's mission. This role focuses on enhancing brand awareness, encouraging community interaction, and supporting growth for all GRD entities, including Wild Horse Pass Presents, Firebird Motorsports Park, Rawhide Western Town, Gila River Business Enterprises and any other managed business. The Social Media Coordinator will manage daily postings, coordinate campaigns, interact with followers, and monitor performance metrics to ensure a strong online presence.
Responsibilities:
Social Media Strategy and Alignment:
- Develop and implement effective social media strategies that support and enhance our marketing and event-based objectives.
- Assist in executing a social media strategy tailored to the organization and its entities to boost brand visibility, community engagement, and audience growth.
- Ensure social media activities align with the company's overall objectives and messaging.
Content Creation and Scheduling:
- Develop, curate and schedule content across all the organization's social media platforms based on comprehensive monthly calendar.
- Craft visually appealing posts and thoughtful messaging tailored to each platform's audience, and work with internal teams to gather event materials and visuals.
- Create engaging and creative reel ideas that align with our brand and marketing events.
Community Engagement:
- Actively interact with the social media community by responding promptly to comments, messages, and questions
- Facilitate audience engagement through polls, Q&A sessions, and user-generated content to enhance community connection.
Campaign and Influence Coordination:
- Assist in coordinating and tracking paid social media campaigns for events, promotions, and initiatives.
- Partner with influencers, brand ambassadors, and local personalities to expand the organization's online reach and build brand credibility.
Analytics and Strategy Adjustment:
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics (engagement, reach, audience growth) to evaluate campaign success.
- Provide regular reports and insights to refine strategies, ensuring the organization's social media goals are met effectively.
Brand Consistency:
- Uphold the company's brand identity across all digital channels, adhering to brand guidelines and ensuring a cohesive look and feel in messaging.
Copywriting and Editing:
- Create, proofread, and edit content to ensure it is clear, error-free, and consistent in voice and tone.
- Utilize strong written and verbal communication skills.
Professional Content Development:
- Use design tools like Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to develop high-quality, professional content.
- Experiment with formats and styles that drive engagement and highlight the organization's unique brand attributes.
Event Flexibility:
- Capture real-time content during events, including evenings and weekends, to increase social media engagement.
- Contribute to authentic and immediate social media coverage for all of the organization's events.
Supervisor Responsibility:
Oversees the supervision of personnel, which includes hiring, work allocation, training, problem resolution; evaluates performance and makes recommendations for personnel actions; motivates employees to achieve peak productivity and performance; provides guidance and feedback for assigned staff.

- Work will be performed both inside and outside on a regular basis, in most weather conditions.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts are required as a normal part of this position.
- Occasional local day travel, Local travel to managed businesses.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk extended period. The employee occasionally is required to bend, climb, stoop, lift, carry, push, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Required Qualifications:
- Associate's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
- 2 years in social media management or digital marketing, preferably within a community-focused or multi-brand organization.
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required for client meetings and events.
- Valid AZ driver's license, provide a 39-month satisfactory MVR report.
- Obtain a Tribal operator driving permit at the time of hire.
- A satisfactory result obtained through a test for illegal drugs.
- Acknowledge and agree to maintain a drug-free workplace.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar content tools
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven copywriting and editing abilities.
- In-depth knowledge of major social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, TikTok) and their unique audiences.
- Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics) to track and optimize content performance.
- Ability to manage multiple campaigns and prioritize tasks efficiently.
- Willingness to work during events, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Collaborative attitude with experience working with cross-functional teams to achieve shared goals.
- Knowledge and experience working with Gila River Indian Community or other Native American Communities.
- Proficient in MS office and other relevant workplace tools.
