Position Overview:
As the GlobalSocial Media Director, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing a comprehensive social media strategy that engages our global audience and elevates brand awareness across international markets. Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams across marketing, PR, and regional stakeholders to ensure alignment of messaging and brand voice. This position is 100% remote, but the candidate must be based in the US, with flexibility to work across time zones.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute a global social media strategy that aligns with the company’s growth objectives and brand positioning.
Oversee content creation for all social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, etc.) with a focus on both organic and paid growth in international markets.
Lead a social media team (internal or external) and collaborate with marketing and creative departments to ensure cohesive messaging across channels.
Monitor global trends, consumer behavior, and platform updates to ensure the company stays relevant in a fast-evolving digital landscape.
Analyze data and performance metrics to refine and optimize campaigns, reporting key insights to leadership and adjusting strategies for regional nuances.
Build and manage relationships with influencers, brand ambassadors, and digital communities globally to increase brand visibility.
Stay informed on international social media regulations, ensuring all content complies with legal and ethical standards.
Collaborate with regional teams to localize content that resonates with diverse cultural and market needs.
Manage a global social media budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in social media marketing, with a strong focus on international markets.
Proven track record of leading successful global social media campaigns.
Exceptional knowledge of social media platforms, tools, and analytics, including but not limited to Hootsuite, Sprout Social, and Google Analytics.
Strong understanding of paid social advertising strategies and platforms.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to adapt messaging across cultures.
Proven ability to manage remote teams across different time zones.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Analytical mindset with experience in using data to drive decision-making and optimize strategies.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and pivot as needed.
