The Work
Lexipol Media Group - Staying on top of evolving issues in public safety and local government requires having a trusted source of news and analysis. For more than 20 years, Lexipol’s industry news sites—Police1, FireRescue1, EMS1, Corrections1 and Gov1—have provided public safety and local government professionals a destination to exchange information and research solutions for the biggest challenges facing their agencies.

The Head of Revenue will be responsible for all revenue-related activities within the Lexipol Media Group across content monetization and agency services including new business generation/sales, customer success and ad operations.

The HOR is charged with coalescing the various revenue opportunities into a cohesive strategy across products and categories. The HOR will develop a clear revenue strategy that accounts for the culture of the organization and its customers. The HOR will hire and develop their senior leadership team and hold them accountable for leading the day-to-day revenue generation of the organization. The HOR, in collaboration with other executives, will create and implement strategies to raise the profile and relevance of the organization.

The HOR will be responsible for ensuring the organization has an achievable and sustainable short term and long-term revenue plan for revenue generating areas.
The individual who serves as HOR shall possess well-developed sales, communications, leadership and team building skills. The HOR will have an entrepreneurial and growth mindset; they must be able to move quickly and adapt to changing situations. This individual must be intrinsically driven to succeed, to overachieve targets and have a very strong work ethic.

Role and Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with President, LMG on the setting of KPIs and targets for revenue streams and new growth areas.
  • Develop, implement, and lead sales strategic plans to achieve both annual and long-term revenue goals as well as profitability growth targets, including revenue forecasting.
  • Lead the strategies and processes across the revenue cycle from customer acquisition to engagement to success and retention including pipeline, account planning, and proposals.
  • Develop, implement, and utilize robust metrics to evaluate strategic plans and to monitor team progress.
  • Create compensation plans for sales team to best incentivize/achieve revenue success for the organization.
  • Prospect and close and retain relationships with key target clients.
  • Evaluate collaboration opportunities that build the customer base, drive revenue, and amplify the brand of our organization to target audiences.
  • Instill a culture of sales and revenue generation across the entire business.
  • Remain well-connected with customers to ensure that their needs are being factored into the product development and enhancement cycles.
  • Build the team by designing, hiring, and training individuals and teams in Sales & Customer Success

Requirements:  To be considered for this role, you will have this experience:
  • Fifteen (15) plus years of relevant experience in senior level executive leadership positions in revenue generation across both media and advertising businesses.
  • Demonstrated track record of success building teams and revenue streams to scale from a base of 8 figures of revenue.
  • Experience in B2B media/sales and/or public service a plus but not required.
  • Bachelor’s degree. MBA a plus.
  • Experience with hiring, managing, leading, and inspiring teams to create a collaborative culture.
  • Demonstrated understanding of digital media advertising best practices.
  • Demonstrated success working with clients/partners and tailoring programs that deliver value.
  • Experience leading teams through transformative projects.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills and great attention to detail.
  • Outstanding sales, leadership, management, and motivational skills, as well as excellent communication skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Talented self-starter with an extremely creative mind, strategic ideas and focus on achieving
  • excellence.
  • Extremely comfortable in ambiguity.
  • Detail oriented, logical, and possessing a methodological approach to managing multiple projects within deadlines and budget.
  • Excellent oral, written and presentation skills, possessing the ability to express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assertive, passionate, and goal-oriented creator and manager of new business with a drive and initiative to succeed at the highest levels.
  • Team-oriented leader with an energetic personality and positive attitude.
  • Experience developing planning tools, budgets, projections, etc.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative, team-oriented environment with the capability of interfacing and maintaining effective relationships with all departments and employees.
