Job Description:
SUMMARY
Working under the direction of the Manager - Social Media, Fundraising and Marketing, the incumbent will support social media, event planning, graphic design, sponsorship development, grant writing and content creation. The incumbent is expected to exercise good judgment, independence, initiative, and professional expertise in conducting day-to-day operations. All work duties and activities must be performed in accordance with the City safety rules and operating regulations, policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the ability to interact with the public, City incumbents, and outside agencies with patience, tact, respect, and professionalism and the following. Other duties may be assigned.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other duties and special projects, as assigned.
PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
The incumbent is responsible to manage their performance in accordance with this job description and the performance expectations provided to them by management. If at any time the incumbent is unsure of their role or specific responsibilities, it is the incumbent's responsibility to refer to their job description and ask for clarification from their supervisor. Management will work with the incumbent, as needed, to ensure performance expectations are clearly communicated and performance goals are achieved.

- Assist with social media, fundraising/marketing tasks, and community events;
- Communicate clearly with staff, donors, sponsors, vendors, volunteers, and event guests;
- Develop educational content for social media and marketing materials including but not limited to direct mail, newsletters, and other campaigns related to the shelter.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Minimum age of 16 years old and interested in pursuing a related degree/career upon graduation;
- Project management skills;
- Experienced in Canva or another graphic creating program.

- Flexibility and effective task management skills;
- Ability to effectively communicate with people;
- Ability to prioritize and work effectively as a member of the team;
- Excellent written, oral, and analytical skills;
- Proficient in Microsoft computer applications (Word, Excel, Publisher, Outlook etc.);
