Job Description
Sigmatech, Inc. is seeking highly qualified and motivated Senior Curriculum and Multimedia Designers in support of a Government Customer based in Chantilly, VA and Fort Belvoir, VA. The Senior Curriculum and Multimedia Designers will provide the instructor staff capabilities and tools they require to guide students, made up of government and contractor personnel, through principles of U.S. Intelligence, satellite engineering, orbital mechanics, electronic warfare, cyberspace operations, computer network operations, space systems, space policy and space operations.
Responsibilities
The Senior Curriculum and Multimedia Designers will take direction from and report to the Sigmatech Contract Program Manager (CPM) and will:
- Develop, review, and publish course materials based on agency Instructional Systems Design (ISD) standards and industry ISD standards and best practices.
- Produce enterprise courses in a timely manner to meet operational MOD enterprise training requirements.
- Deliver enterprise course materials and documentation including, but not limited to, learning plans, learning standards, learning aids, course materials, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for formal agency courses, agency-specific courses, and site-developed courses.
- Collaborate with system providers, operators, and Media Services teams to create, maintain and publish materials to course websites and web pages, Computer Based Training (CBT), video presentations, and other Technology Based Training (TBT) solutions as directed by the CPM.
- Deliver a process and products to be completed by students to evaluate courses and provide feedback.
- Maintain existing classroom and eLearning courses and managing annual reviews to keep all lessons current.
- Develop new eLearning courses, packaging to be SCORM/xAPI/API compliant, and distributing to a Learning Management System (LMS), as required.
- Work closely with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) developing lessons using the ISD for all course formats.
- The most senior or qualified designer will oversee the team of curriculum developers and designers.
- Assist SMEs in writing, editing, and organizing content to fit the target audience and student educational levels for adult learners.
- Ensure technical solutions are compatible with appropriate andragogical approaches for both in-resident and online learning.
- Serves as an educational consultant for instructors.
- Engage with instructors and students to create a dynamic, aspirational, and innovative culture, a professional learning community grounded in collaboration, focused on improving learning outcomes, and driven by data-informed decision-making.
- Lead and support a culture of innovation.
- Evaluate and implement improvements in digital learning strategy.
- Research the latest digital tools and interactive media trends.
- Analyze customer and user data and develop a responsive strategy based on results.
- Assist instructors in the development and delivery of practical and innovative learning lessons and delivery formats.
- Assist in the facilitation, development, and support of digital learning strategies in the classroom.
- Utilize Adult Learning Theory to motivate adult learners to improve professional practice.
Required Qualifications
- Must have an active TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.
- 10 or more years of experience in Instructional System Design and eLearning/curriculum development in a rapid development environment.
- Familiarity with the full range of Space Operations and Associated Capabilities (per Joint Publication 3-14).
- Familiarity with Defense and National Security Space in the areas of strategy, requirements, capabilities, architectures, programs, acquisition, and operations.
- Familiarity with civil, commercial, and international space capabilities.
- Excellent organizational skills to include ability to plan, track, and maintain due dates for multiple tasks and products central to any current courses and courses in development.
- A bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Communications, Technology, Psychology, or a related field.
- Advanced to Expert proficiency level of Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Animate, After Effects, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, Audition) is required in addition to experience in one or more of the following software, including Articulate 360, Camtasia 9, and Audacity.
- Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS), including SCORM/xAPI/API-compliant distribution.
- Knowledge of mixed reality HW and SW and their use in education.
- Excellent grasp of adult learning theory and educational models.
- A solid understanding of video and audio editing techniques, including animation, graphic design, and speech manipulation.
- Strong written, oral, and visual communication skills to assist SMEs with writing, editing, organizing, and managing lesson content.
- Exceptional ability to handle multiple projects without sacrificing a detail-driven approach.
- Ability to work independently, maintain rigorous production schedules, allocate production efforts across multiple projects, and provide clear task status to leadership.
