Position Summary: German Centre is seeking a Part time Music Therapist. The ideal candidates should be able to practice independently.

Part-time 24 hours a week

REQUIREMENTS: Demonstrates skill in utilizing music, vocal and instrumental, to create therapeutic response from individuals and/or groups. Ability to evaluate needs and response to music interventions. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills with patients. Is self-directed, able to function independently.

FUNCTIONS:

· Provides music activity (vocal/instrumental) in one-to-one settings and/or in group settings.

· Documents activity and Music Therapy Assessment.

· Develops plan to meet individual needs, considering the cultural, religious and personal needs/preferences.

· Receives requests, suggestions and observations from the team to enhance the therapeutic value provided by the music interventions.

· Leads or participates in group activities in the facilities.
