DescriptionUniversity of Iowa Health Care, Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, is seeking a 100% Ophthalmic Photographer II (PT38; 45) to perform ophthalmic diagnostic photography and all other aspects of clinical teaching and research imaging as well as to assist in the design and implementation of the imaging aspects of research in ophthalmology.The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences intends to hire either an Ophthalmic Photographer I, non-CRA certified classification, or Ophthalmic Photographer II, CRA certified classification, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please indicate in your application materials the position you wish to be considered for or indicate both.CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform the following tests related to ophthalmic diagnostic imaging: ocular fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, indocyanine green angiography, slit lamp biomicrography, endothelial cell specular micrography, digital ophthalmic imaging and operating room photography. Train, schedule, assign and evaluate work of support staff. Assist in the development of scientific protocols for digital and film imaging of laboratory animals and human subjects. Manage and perform the acquisition, manipulation and storage of computer-based images. Assist faculty in the analysis and interpretation of fluorescein and ICG angiograms. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. Pay Level: PT37; 21 or PT38; 45 ( SEIU Pay Plan | University Human Resources - The University of Iowa (uiowa.edu) )Qualifications CRA Certified (Ophthalmic Photographer II) Minimum Eligibility Requirements : A Bachelor's degree in biomedical photography or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience. Some (6 months - 1 year) photography experience Certification as Certified Retinal Angiographer (CRA) Practical and academic knowledge of photographic principles including photographic optics, lighting, densitometry, and photographic laboratory procedures, and the ability to translate, adapt and apply this knowledge to ophthalmic imaging. Excellent written and verbal communication skills Non-CRA Certified (Ophthalmic Photographer I) Minimum Eligibility Requirements : A Bachelor's Degree in biomedical photography or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience is required. Practical and academic knowledge of photographic principles including photographic optics, lighting, densitometry, and photographic laboratory procedures, and the ability to translate, adapt and apply this knowledge to ophthalmic imaging.
