We are seeking an experienced and skilled Court Reporter to join our team and provide accurate and reliable recording and transcription services for Grand Jury and Deposition testimonies. Your expertise will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of legal proceedings and documentation.

Job Summary: As a Court Reporter specializing in Grand Jury and Deposition testimonies, you will be responsible for recording and transcribing proceedings as required by the United States Attorney's Office (USAO). Your role will be essential in capturing accurate and detailed records of testimonies that contribute to legal proceedings and the administration of justice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend Grand Jury proceedings and Depositions as scheduled by the USAO, providing in-person court reporting services.
  • Use stenographic equipment and real-time transcription technology to record verbal testimony accurately.
  • Transcribe recorded proceedings promptly and meticulously, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to legal terminology.
  • Edit and proofread transcriptions to deliver high-quality and error-free transcripts.
  • Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Collaborate with legal teams, attorneys, and court personnel to facilitate seamless proceedings.
  • Ensure proper storage and maintenance of recorded audio files and transcribed documents.
  • Travel to designated courthouse locations as needed for Grand Jury proceedings, which may be subject to change.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and responsiveness to meet the needs of the USAO.
  • Stay updated on legal terminology and industry trends to enhance transcription accuracy and effectiveness.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Court Reporter (CCR) certification or equivalent.
  • Experience in providing court reporting services for Grand Jury proceedings and Depositions.
  • Proficiency in stenography, real-time transcription technology, and transcription software.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in transcribing complex legal proceedings.
  • Excellent command of legal terminology, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and manage unpredictable schedules.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ethical and professional conduct with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
  • Familiarity with the United States legal system and court procedures.
