Official Court Reporter, 235th District Court Job at Cooke County Texas in Gaine

Cooke County is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Court Reporter with expertise in real-time reporting and prior appellate experience to join our team. The Court Reporter will be assigned to the 235th District Court. This role is critical to ensure accurate and timely documentation of court proceedings and proper handling of court exhibits. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional transcription skills, professionalism, and a commitment to the integrity of the judicial process. The start date for this position will be January 1, 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately record and transcribe court proceedings, including trials and hearings, using real-time reporting technology for the 235th District Court.
• Prepare verbatim transcripts efficiently and in compliance with applicable standards.
• File exhibits with the District Clerk's Office ensuring proper documentation and organization.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards in all reporting activities.
• Operate and maintain advanced court reporting equipment, including stenography or digital recording tools. Provide your own equipment.
• Work collaboratively with judges, attorneys, and court personnel to ensure seamless court operations.
• Responsible for reading portions of transcripts aloud when requested.
• Maintain monthly statistics for Court of Appeals report.
• Perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Certified Shorthand Reporter (CSR) in the state of Texas.
• Real-Time reporting proficiency is required.
• Prior appellate court experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of legal terminology and court procedures.
• Excellent typing speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in court reporting equipment and real-time software.
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
