We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer (contractor) to join NFCU team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in documentation and writing, with a deep understanding of technology and processes. As a Technical Writer, (s)he will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that supports NFCU products, services, and internal processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

• Documentation Development:

• Create, revise, and maintain technical documentation, including user manuals, processes, technical guides, technical and business documentation, and procedures documentation.

• Develop and standardize templates and documentation processes to ensure consistency and quality.

• Collaboration:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams including leads, engineers, product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate, presentable, and complete documentation.

• Participate in meetings and product development discussions to stay updated on new features, changes, and updates.

• Research & Analysis:

• Research, analyze, and interpret technical information from various sources to produce user-friendly documentation.

• Continuously update documentation based on new product releases, updates, and user feedback.

• Content Management:

• Organize and manage documentation repositories, ensuring documents are easily accessible and up to date.

• Implement and manage version control for documentation to track changes and updates.

• Quality Assurance:

• Conduct thorough reviews of documentation for accuracy, proper presentation, completeness, and adherence to standards.

• Test and validate documentation content against the actual product and processes to ensure usability.

 

Qualifications:

• Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, strong English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.

 

Experience:

• Proven experience as a Technical Writer or similar role, preferably in the technology sector.

• Strong understanding of technical concepts, software development, and engineering processes.

 

Skills:

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Proficiency in documentation tools such as Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint , and other content management systems.

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Ability to explain complex technical information in a clear and concise manner.

 

Additional Requirements:

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to documentation challenges.

• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work under pressure and deadlines.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Agile development methodologies.

• Knowledge of technology and software development tools.

• Certification in Technical Writing and or content management.
