Position Summary:

The Director of Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and implementing communications for the company. Reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Affairs, this position will help lead the enterprise and Reyes Holdings communications strategy. The Director of Corporate Communications will serve as a senior communications strategist, team leader and senior advisor to the Vice President of Corporate Affairs. The primary components of this role are outlined below.

 

Position Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

 

  • Collaborating with members of the Reyes Holdings leadership teams and Corporate functions (HR, Legal, IT, Finance, Operations, Sales, etc.) to develop and execute strategies to better connect our workforce and align employee messages to drive results against business objectives
  • Managing the external and internal communication processes for Reyes Holdings, including strategy and support, while also planning and executing employee communications events (e.g., town halls, webcasts, etc.)
  • Acting as a strategic advisor to the Vice President of Corporate Affairs, working to understand priorities and translate those into internal communications plans and messages that can be executed across the organization
  • Partnering with stakeholders on change management initiatives and leading communications support of business optimization efforts
  • Collaborating with business unit communications counterparts to ensure alignment and consistency across the broader enterprise
  • Coordinating, drafting, editing, and publishing communications through newsletters, email, intranet, video, and other media as appropriate while also embedding messages related to strategy, objectives, vision, values, and culture within internal communications – ensuring strategic content supports business efforts and will resonate with all employee audiences
  • Serving as co-editor-in-chief for company intranet, working with the RH team to set content strategy, site governance and processes to ensure employees have access to the tools, resources, and information they need
  • Identifying and assessing effectiveness of existing communications vehicles; develop and implement solutions to improve reach and usage, including launching new vehicles as necessary
  • Measuring, monitoring, and responding to employee feedback, including engagement surveys and focus groups with key internal stakeholders; developing a framework for measuring the quality and value of internal communications and making this visible to the organization
  • Partnering with Human Resources and other corporate departments to coordinate and create branding campaigns such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Employment Branding, Company Culture, and other values-driven initiatives
  • Overseeing direct reports/managing vendors as needed and managing quarterly/annual communications editorial calendar
  • Any other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field
  • At least 8-10 years of Communications experience
  • High energy and resourceful leader with the capability to quickly take control of responsibilities and establish himself/herself as a credible strategic business partner. This includes having the confidence to champion internal communications recommendations and actively counsel senior leadership
  • Proven effective leadership and management skills; ability to coach and develop in an ever-changing, matrixed scaling business environment
  • Strong business acumen and a great understanding of how to leverage internal communications to enhance business success
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; ability to communicate effectively with different levels within an organization and lead change initiatives; ability to negotiate with and persuade others, and ability to facilitate team meetings
  • Ability to think outside the box and bring creative ideas to the table
  • Strong conceptual flexibility with an ability to synthesize large amounts of data and input from a variety of stakeholders in order to select and influence/drive the best solution
  • Experience leading communications in times of change, including growth, integration, and business transformation
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills with ability to present views in a clear and compelling manner and develop trust and influence as a thought leader with a broad relationship base
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with key business leaders and employees at all levels
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while delivering high quality results
  • Exceptional customer focus and unwavering integrity
  • Good listening skills: ability to understand issues and design appropriate, audience-specific solutions
  • Excellent project management skills, including writing, spelling, grammar, editing, design, and content development skills; experience with electronic communications (intranet, video, social media)
  • This position must pass a post-offer background and drug test

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong knowledge of food and beverage distribution industry and trends
  • Experience with SharePoint
  • Experience with content design
