About the Role:

iSpot is seeking an experienced Director of Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting to expand the Finance and Accounting team and support our growth. Based in Bellevue, WA, this position will support the Accounting Department with US GAAP and Management reporting responsibilities, technical accounting research, and team leadership. The individual will be part of a growing team and be responsible for assisting the organization with identifying value-add opportunities to promote process standardization, efficiencies and overall department performance improvement. It is critical that the individual in this role is able to be flexible and agile in adapting to changing circumstances and priorities, while never sacrificing the accuracy of the information reported.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the preparation, review and filing of the Company's financial reporting packages.
  • Lead the development of a strong technical accounting and policy function, including identifying best practices, formalizing process, standardizing documentation, and partnering with iSpot's various functions to deliver timely and accurate information.
  • Partnering with the corporate controller to create, update or clarify global financial policies; organizing teams to develop policy and implement new accounting pronouncements.
  • Participate in implementation of accounting and/or reporting related systems.
  • Proactively identifying, researching, consulting, and drafting technical memorandums on significant and complex proposed and/or completed transactions and issues.
  • Educating the finance organization on accounting pronouncements and application of policy.
  • Assist with the coordination and management of annual external audit process.
  • Review, update and maintain control documentation related to financial reporting.

Skills And Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience managing or involved with:
    • Technical Accounting and financial reporting, SEC reporting a plus.
    • Combination of Big 4 experience plus industry experience.
  • BS degree in Accounting.
  • CPA certification, with management experience at large public accounting firm preferred.
  • Proficiency with researching accounting literature including FASB, SEC, AICPA and IFRS rules and regulations.
  • Strong project management, leadership, relationship development and people management skills.
  • Results orientation, working on a fast-paced team, adapting to rapidly changing situations and conditions as well as a drive and bias for action.
  • Partnership and execution within a matrixed structure: ability to work cross-functionally and objectively with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Project and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; clear and proactive communication to senior leadership.
  • The ability to simply explain complex or technical topics to non-expert users.
  • Motivated to learn and grow and develop knowledge of unfamiliar areas.

Target cash compensation range: $162,780-204,000 USD Annually

We are committed to providing competitive, market-informed compensation. The cash compensation above includes base salary, variable commission for employees in eligible roles, and annual bonus targets for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation, all full time iSpotters are eligible to participate in iSpot's equity plan to receive stock options. Non-exempt roles will also be eligible for (pre-approved) overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are influenced by different factors unique to each candidate, including their skills, experience, qualifications and other job-related reasons.

Hybrid & Flexible Workplace Policy

iSpot supports a hybrid and flexible workplace. Depending on location and work responsibilities, employees may be designated as full-time or part-time office-based or a fully remote employee. A hybrid work schedule indicates that you work in the office some days and work from home other days. The best hybrid workplaces allow for flexibility while also encouraging consistency.

Those local or living in surrounding areas to one of our offices (Bellevue, WA; El Segundo, CA; New York, NY) will work a hybrid schedule, coming into their local office 1-3 days a week. While those in a role, not office-based and located further away from our offices, will work a fully remote schedule.
