Mesa Associates, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team, focusing on work associated with Substation Design Standards. The ideal candidate will possess excellent writing and communication skills.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate’s degree in Professional Writing or Technical Writing with two years of experience. Bachelor’s degree in Professional or Technical Writing preferred. Associate’s degree in a related major with two years of experience or bachelor’s degree in related major accepted (e.g. English, journalism, communications, marketing, or a technical writing/project management related field).
  • Experience managing projects with short durations that require communications with multi-discipline stake holders and great attention to accuracy, schedule, and budget.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office, Bluebeam or Adobe Professional. Experience with MS Project and MS Visio is desired.
  • At least 2 years of experience in proposal or technical writing is required.
  • Previous electric power industry experience or familiarity is highly desired.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Review and edit existing training materials; create new materials as needed.
  • Review and edit existing procedures, guidelines, process flow maps, etc.
  • Create new procedures, guidelines, process flow maps, etc.
  • Maintenance of existing documentation.
  • Coordinate and interface with Stakeholders concerning content and presentation.
  • Tracking and reporting concerning all responsibilities above.

  • Ability to meet short and frequent deadlines

  • Ability to manage time effectively and without supervisor intervention.
