Wanco Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer in our Arvada, CO production facility.

Summary:

We are looking for an experienced, accomplished, and exceptional technical writer to bring our library of product manuals up to date. The ideal candidate has proven success creating technical documentation, be able to communicate effectively and write well, and work both collaboratively and independently.

Qualifications:

· 3+ years of full-time, professional experience as a technical writer

· Excellent writing and grammatical skills

· Excellent editing and proofreading skills

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Innate desire to learn

· Strong attention to detail, the bigger picture, and the end goals

· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines

· Ability to maintain positive interpersonal working relationships that encourage openness and facilitate productive collaboration

· Strong work ethic and good time management skills

· Work full-time and on-site in Arvada, Colorado

· Provide samples of previous work and pass a skills assessment

Preferred Additional Skills:

· Proficient with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat

· Proficient with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook

· Previous experience in a technical writing role in an engineering or manufacturing environment

· Ability to read engineering drawings

· Ability to use ERP systems

· Bachelor’s Degree in Communications or Journalism

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

· Create and update operator, service, and maintenance manuals

· Perform all stages of document creation including written and illustrative content: develop, write, edit, format, proofread, and publish

· Manage, format, and modify vector artwork provided by the engineering department

· Work with subject matter experts, engineers and drafters, buyers, and commercial printers

· Gather and research information when necessary

· Shift between projects while maintaining efficiency and productivity to achieve goals on time

· Prioritize work based on changing needs

· Work on related projects when necessary

Physical Requirements:

· Mobility to work in a large factory setting with walking, lifting, standing, and sitting, while maintaining PPE requirements

· Some local travel may be required

Reporting: This position reports to the Production Engineering Manager.

Pay Scale: $25 - $32 (based on experience)

Benefits: Insurance (Medical, Dental, Life, 401k). Paid time off and holidays.
