RiverTech, an Akima company, is hiring a Tech Writer II to support the DSLM contract in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Tech Writer II will be responsible for drafting, incorporating, editing, reviewing, and publishing approved Satellite Control Network (SCN) Technical Order (TO) Changes and software release documentation to the baseline in support of the operations and maintenance personnel performing the SCN mission. Within the realm of a DoD contract and military standard (MIL-STD) guidelines, you will communicate and coordinate with Data Transport Product Support Sustainment Logistics Maintenance (DSLM) software team members, project managers, configuration and data managers, engineers, logicians, drafters, and Government customers to efficiently develop and maintain technical documentation and contractual deliverables. The ideal candidate will need to be adaptable in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities and be able to balance and organize software releases and projects that span several stages of development.Responsibilities

- Addresses somewhat complex technical issues/problems that require a depth of technical job knowledge from other areas.
- Problems are typically solved through drawing from prior experiences, with analysis of the issue.
- Bachelor's Degree in Technical Writing or technical field or equivalent on-the-job documentation experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of technical or procedural writing experience.
- Familiarity with engineering drawings.
- Able to obtain Secret Clearance.
- Experience with Air Force Technical Orders.
- Familiarity of the Satellite Control Network (SCN).
- Working knowledge of TM-86-01 and TO-00-5-1.
- Experience with Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Arbortext editor.
- Experience on DoD programs and interaction with government stakeholders - SCN experience is a plus.
- Experience using the following COTS tools: VersionOne, GitHub, SharePoint, Fortify, Coverity.
- Experience with an Agile team and/or Software team.
